British funnyman Rowan Atkinson's bad motor luck appears to have struck again after his car caught fire in the early hours of Friday.

The auto enthusiast, who found international fame as the hapless Mr Bean, was left with cuts and bruises in August after driving his expensive Audi convertible into a garbage truck outside his home in Northants, England.

And the actor appeared to revert back to his clumsy alter-ego once again when the engine in his vintage racing car burst into flameswhile it was parked on a London street.

An onlooker tells WENN, "All the paparazzi were waiting outside Cipriani restaurant for Robert Downey, Jr. to come out when the engine caught on fire just down the street. Rowan lifted up the hood and tried to put out the flames with a fire extinguisher, but ended up having to call for roadside assistance."

Atkinson was later spotted taking luggage out of the vintage Jaguar as he waited for a tow-truck.

The Johnny English star has also had accidents in his $160,000 (£100,000) Aston Martin V8 Zagato and another in his $1 million (£625,000) McLaren F1.
