Elle MacPherson is backing a British charity campaign to increase awareness of women's health in a bid to drive down cervical cancer rates.
The supermodel has lent her support to Wellbeing of Women, which funds screenings and vaccinations for females in the U.K.
And Macpherson is urging women to visit their doctor regularly for health checks.
She says, "Many women don't take time out to be checked routinely, sometimes choosing to ignore it or worry about being checked. It's easy to think: 'It won't happen to me,' or 'I don't want to know what's going on.' The fact is, I always feel better after going to see the doctor for my regular checks. I know that I'm okay and that I've been responsible and faced my fears. Please get checked, ladies."
