Doctor Who star Matt Smith and Tom Baker was honored actress Elizabeth Slade, praising his "grace and goodness" and his death marks a tragic loss for fans of sci-fi cult.
Smith played together last year Slade as a special guest in a two-part episode of their lord time series spin-off The Sarah Jane Adventures.
And the actor – the current holder of the role of Doctor Who – has fond memories of his time working with Slade.
Smith said: "What struck me was Li's grace. She welcomed me, educated me and I was happy with his stories and adventures of Doctor Who. And it also seems to have a quality of youth are not many left because they go in life.
"His grace and kindness to stay with me because she had these qualities in abundance and freely share … I will miss her, that the world of Doctor Who and all doctors who have had the pleasure of working with Li Slade and travel the universe with Sarah Jane. "
And Baker, who appeared in the show with Slade when he played the doctor between 1974 and 1981, wrote on his website, "the death of Sarah Jane's? No, impossible! Impossible … It can not be dead. Slade died Tuesday at age 63 after losing his battle against cancer.
